MANDATORY
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT (TODAY!)
New Hope Academy will have a mandatory Back to School Night
on Tuesday, September 23, from 7:00-9:30 p.m.
for 6th -12th grades. The meeting will begin promptly
at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-purpose room with a brief PTA general meeting,
followed by several sessions where parents attend their children's classes to
meet the teachers. The teachers will make presentations regarding homework,
curriculum, communication, fieldtrips discipline etc. and answer any
questions. Specialty teachers will also be on hand in the Multipurpose
Room. Adults
Only Please. This is not a night for children to attend. |

2008 Fall Sports Programs - Boys & Girls Grades 5 thru 12...
Fall Soccer Clinic (4 weeks)
Training & Fundamental Clinic
Team Basketball- Boys & Girls Grades 5/6, 7/8, & 9 to 12
New
Hope Academy Fall Sports program for
Boys & Girls Grades 5 thru 12 will include a Fall Soccer Clinic to provide
fundamental Soccer Skills and training for the spring Soccer team seasons and
Team Basketball for both Boys & Girls. The Fall Soccer Clinics will begin
the week of September 29th after-school. Sessions will be conducted by Top Area
Soccer Coaches and will provide the participants with a great training base for
our Spring '09 Soccer season. Boys &
Girls Basketball season will begin the week of October 20th and have a 12-14
week season with practices and a full game schedule for each team against local
private schools. The Fall Soccer and Basketball Programs will be administered
by HoopKidz.

Program Highlights
Fall Soccer Clinics will run 4 wks. The cost is $75.00 and includes
a New Hope/Nike Soccer T Shirt. Team
Basketball 12-14 weeks. Cost is $160.00 (Grades 5-8) & $170.00
(grades 9-12) and includes Nike Team uniforms.
Soccer Field for Clinics will be
in New Carrolton. Times to be announced.Top Area coaches will conduct
the Soccer Clinics and direct our Basketball programs. Participation in both Fall
Sports -$225.00
HoopKidz/HoopElite is in our 12th Year and
under the direction of David Dickerson

Foreign policy and national security issues will be the focus of the 8:00 p.m. debate.

of Congress Celebrates the Joy of Reading
The 2008
National Book Festival, organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress and
hosted by First Lady Laura Bush, will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008,
on the National Mall in Washington,
D.C., between 3rd and 7th streets
from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The festival is free and open to the public.

Saturday, October 4, 2008, the Capital BookFest returns to the Blvd @ The Cap
Centre in Largo,
MD. This year, we are proud to welcome the Prince George's
County Commission for Women as our official
partner and we expect over 10,000 attendees. In addition to the phenomenal
literary marketplace, there will be readings, signings, and panels featuring
authors like Nikki Giovanni, Tananarive Due,
